PURPOSE: A call message post box service apparatus and method of a radio paging receiver is to manage a call message received during an auto-off mode of the radio paging receiver at a base station, and then transmit the message to the radio paging receiver when returning to an auto-on mode. CONSTITUTION: Whether information of an auto-off mode is received from a radio paging receiver is determined. If the information is received, The radio paging receiver is registered as a post box using terminal. Then, whenever a message calling the radio paging receiver is received, the message is stored in a post box of a base station. Whether information of an auto-on mode is received from the radio paging receiver is determined. If the information of the auto-on mode is received, the call message stored in the post box is transmitted to the radio paging receiver. In the method, the paging receiver checks whether time of the auto-off mode arrives. if the time arrives, the information of the auto-off mode is transmitted to the base station by radio. Then, a radio receiving/transmitting portion of the radio paging receiver is turned off.
