HIERARCHY WORD LINE STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: A word-line structure is provided to drive neighbored sub-word lines by different main-word lines so that a coupling noise is reduced and a transistor in a sub-word line driver is reduced. CONSTITUTION: In the structure, each word-line row(R1-Rn) corresponds to each main word line(MWL0b-MWLnb). Each word-line row(R1-Rn) includes a pair of sub-word line drivers(SED0-SWD1,SED2-SED3) to which a pair of complementary enable signals(SWDEN0-SWDEN1,SWDEN2-SWDEN3) inputs. The first main word line(MWL0b) in the main word lines(MWL0b-MWLnb) is connected to the odd pair of sub-word line drivers(SED0-SWD1) in the first word-line row(R1). Each of the other main word lines(MWL1b-MWLnb) is connected to the odd pair of sub-word line drivers(SED0-SWD1) in a corresponding word-line row(R1) and even pair of sub-word line drivers(SED2-SWD3) in an antecedent word-line row. The even pair of sub-word line drivers(SED2-SWD3) in the last word-line row(Rn) is connected to the first main word line(MWL0b).
