PURPOSE: A video recording/reproducing device recording/reproducing a multi broadcasting system signal, is provided to receive broadcasting signals of mutually different broadcasting system to be recorded in a desired broadcasting system, and to reproduce broadcasting signals recorded in a different broadcasting system with a desired broadcasting system. CONSTITUTION: A command supplier(114) supplies a command of a user. At least two demodulating units(102) receive broadcasting signals received from a tuner, for demodulation in mutually different systems. A switching unit(104) selects demodulation signals outputted from the demodulating units(102) according to a predetermined control signal. A broadcasting system discriminator(106) discriminates a broadcasting system of the demodulation signals outputted through the switching unit(104). A broadcasting system converter(108) converts broadcasting signals outputted in the broadcasting system discriminator(106) to a desired broadcasting system according to a predetermined control signal. A microcomputer(118) recognizes a presently received broadcasting system outputted from the broadcasting system discriminator(106) in a recording operation, and controls the switching unit(104) to select a desired modulation signal. The microcomputer(118) controls the broadcasting system converter(108) for the conversion into a broadcasting system desired by the user, and controls a servo system(116) by inputting a synchronizing signal of a video signal processor(110) recorded according to the converted broadcasting system. And the microprocessor(118) controls the broadcasting system converter(108) and the servo system(116), for inputting a synchronizing signal inputted from the video signal processor(110) in a reproducing operation and converting the signal to a broadcasting system desired by the user.
