PURPOSE: A temperature estimation method of exhaust gas is provided to precisely estimate a temperature of exhaust gas considering not only an intake air amount and an intake air temperature but also an operation state of a secondary valve, thereby obtaining more precise data for reducing the harmful components in the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A temperature estimation method of exhaust gas includes the steps of obtaining characteristics of exhaust gas temperature according to an intake air amount, carrying out an amendment according to the temperature of the intake air, obtaining a flow ratio value of secondary air according to a voltage state of a battery and a driving time of a secondary valve, determining a filter coefficient according to the flow ratio value of the secondary air and an intake air amount of an engine, and filtering the characteristics exhaust gas temperature obtained in the second step with the filter coefficient determined in the fourth step.
