PURPOSE: A starting standby time reducing device for a diesel engine is provided to properly control a glow plug by a glow controller to be simultaneously driven when a user opens a driver's door to heat a combustion chamber of an engine before an engine starting key is inserted, thereby preventing the delay of vehicle starting. CONSTITUTION: A starting standby time reducing device for a diesel engine includes a door switch(70) mounted on a driver's door to output a door state signal, and a glow controller(10) receiving the door state signal output from the door switch for driving a glow relay(20) for a proper time period when the door switch is turned on to automatically control a glow plug(60).
