摘要 PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling a brake device are provided to efficiently use regenerative brake energy by controlling a motor and to expand travelling distance of an electric vehicle by using the regenerative brake energy in charging a battery. CONSTITUTION: A brake device in an electric vehicle comprises an inverter(10); a motor(20); a brake switch(30); a pressure sensing sensor(31); a controller(40); and a hydraulic pressure valve(50). A method for controlling the brake device comprises a first process detecting brake amount with the brake switch and brake hydraulic pressure amount to decelerate the vehicle in turning on the brake switch and deciding whether both amounts are identified; a second process deciding whether the brake switch turns off by placing a brake pedal and controlling regenerative brake energy by determining gate frequency of the inverter; and a third process controlling actuation of the brake hydraulic pressure and stopping the control of the regenerative brake energy by deciding the gate frequency of the inverter while the hydraulic pressure is released in turning off the brake switch.
