PURPOSE: Device and method for controlling regenerative brake energy are provided to improve efficiency of a motor by controlling actively and to prevent a vehicle from moving back in travelling on a slant. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling regenerative brake energy comprises an acceleration pedal sensing unit(10); a brake pedal sensing unit(20); a vehicle speed sensing unit(30); an A/D converting unit(40) outputting a digital signal according to a signal applied by connecting to an output end of the acceleration pedal sensing unit and the brake pedal sensing unit; a motor controlling unit(40) outputting a control signal to regulate a motion of the regenerative brake according to actuating amount of the brake pedal by being engaged with output ends of the vehicle speed sensing unit and the A/D converting unit; and a motor(M) supplying travelling power by being driven according to the control signal. The device for controlling the regenerative brake energy senses the brake state according to the actuating amount of the brake pedal and changes the regenerative brake amount to control rotating amount and a direction of the motor.
