PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liq. crystal display element suitable to enlarging and improving precision by preventing lowering and delay of a signal voltage without reducing opening ratio. SOLUTION: Width of a transparent electrode 14 is enlarged in greater than or equal to an actual pixel width by expanding the transparent electrode 14 to a side face of a projecting structure 21 provide on a boundary part of the transparent electrode 14. And by providing the transparent electrode 14 on a side face of the structure 21, a lateral electric field area generating between adjacent transparent electrodes 14 or between the transparent electrode 14 and an electrode placed opposite to each other can be reduced. Furthermore, by providing a metallic bus electrode 15 on a side face of the structure 21 with contacting to the transparent electrode 14, lowering and delay of a signal voltage can be prevented without reducing opening ratio. This structure 21 can be used both for a black matrix and a spacer. |
