PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rate of a processing for control, improve power factor, reduce harmonics and reduce cost by reducing the number of switching times and setting it to be the required minimum. SOLUTION: A DC power unit is provided with a rectifying circuit 2 which rectifies the voltage of AC power 1, a smoothing capacitor 4 for smoothing output voltage compared to the rectifying circuit 2, a switch means 6 arranged on an AC power 1-side compared to the smoothing capacitor 4, a reactor 3 arranged to the power-side compared to a switching means 6, a load quantity detection means 10 for detecting the load quantity of a load connected to the smoothing capacitor 4 connected in parallel and a control means 8 for controlling the opening/closing of the switching means 6 at opening/closing time corresponding to load quantity at least twice in a power half period in synchronization with the power period of AC power 1.
