PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to perform quick viewing and retrieval in accordance with user's own tastes by extracting plural information kinds from video based on different references, storing the position of each information kind, selecting a desired information kind and performing reproduction from the video position of the selected information kind. SOLUTION: Plural information kinds are extracted from video based on different references, the position of each information kind is stored, a desired information kind is selected and reproduction is performed from the position of an image of the selected information kind. In this device, record information data is inputted together with a video inputted to a video inputting means 101 to a video analyzing means 104, and information in video obtained by the means 101 is analyzed by the means 104. A video information recording means 106 stores an information table stored in an information table managing means 105 in a recording medium 103. A video reproducing means 110 reproduces a video recorded on the medium 103 according to the control of a reproduction method setting means 108 and outputs a video signal.
