PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve wear resistance and heat resistance of a magnetic shielding member. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a magnetoresistive magnetic head, a soft magnetic thin film 6 which is to be a magnetic shielding member of a magnetoresistance element 4 (MR element 4) is formed of a cobalt series amorphous material. At the time of forming the soft magnetic thin film 6, the thin film is formed by a lift-off method by using a resist film 48 which is to be an inverted taper shape at an opening. At this time, the thin film may be formed by the lift-off method by using a first resist film 48b and a second resist film 48c projecting from the first resist film 48b at the opening.
