PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity of a magnetic recording medium in which magnetic film layers are formed on a principal plane of a non-magnetic substrate and the magnetic film layers having irregular patterns are magnetized in the reverse direction each other. SOLUTION: A magnetic head 40 for magnetization constitues a first magnetic gap 42, which magnetizes the magnetic film layers 13 of projected patterns 11 and the magnetic film layers 14 of recessed patterns 12 in the first direction by impressing a strong magnetic field on the principal plane of the magnetic recording medium and a second magnetic gap 43, which reverses the magnetic film layers 13 of the projected patterns 11 magnetized in the first direction by impressing an weak magnetic field and magnetizes the magnetic film layers 13 in the second direction, to one a piece of slider 41. Magnetizing treatment of the above-mentioned magnetic film layers 13, 14 is executed in a same process with the first magnetic gap 42 and the second magnetic gap 43 by driving the magnetic head 40 for magnetization in a tracking direction.
