PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reading the quantity of light of a micro spot with a simple constitution capable of obtaining high detection accuracy easily. SOLUTION: A reading head 7 is linearly moved along the surface of a biotip 20 in the directions of an arrow X to irradiate a specimen spot 21 labeled with a fluorescent substance located on the biotip 20 with laser light and to detect fluorescence excited by the irradiation. At this time, the optical path L of the laser light from a laser 6 to the reading head 7 and the optical path F of a part for extracting the detected fluorescence from the reading head 7 are each arranged in parallel with the direction of the movements of the reading head 7. The detected fluorescence is converted into electric signals by photomuitipliers 12 and 16.
