A trellis comprises at least three elongate main strips 1, arranged in spaced parallel relationship with respect to one another, and at least three elongate cross piece strips 3 arranged in spaced parallel relationship with respect to one another. The main strips each have a series of longitudinally spaced apertures 2, the cross piece strips extending into or through the apertures. The main strips and the cross piece strips are substantially fixed with respect to one another such that the trellis is in the form of a rigid panel. The main strips and /or the cross piece strips each have two opposite substantially flat longitudinally extending faces. The main strips and the cross piece strips may be substantially rectangular in transverse cross section.
