In a first sequence (T1) an electricity supply (300) delivers a direct voltage to a measuring probe (100) which is adjacent to a reference probe (200). During a second sequence (T2) the measuring probe is connected to an operational amplifier (510) which acts as an integrator and in conjunction with a data processor (600) produces a signal representing the permittivity between the probes.
