MANUFACTURE OF JUNCTION OPTICAL FIBER COUPLER, JUNCTION OPTICAL FIBER COUPLER, AND OPTICAL FIBER COUPLER MANUFACTURING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity by saving the time of fusion adhering and to make the optical loss nearly uniform by slackening the intersection parts of other fibers (POF) so that the length of the intersection part of other POFs is nearly equal to the length of the intersection parts of some POFs and welding branch points at a time for the branch parts of plural stages. SOLUTION: Even 1st and 4th POFs (1) and (4) which do not cross each other have excessive parts M1 and M2 formed to give excessive length nearly equal to that of 2nd and 3rd POFs (2) and (3) which cross each other and thus the respective POFs (1) to (4) do not have differences in length. Consequently, differences in optical loss and phase shifts of light between the respective POFs (1) to (4) are prevented. This POF coupler is reduced in procedures and frequency by fusing and adhering branch join points P1a, P1b, P2a, and P2b at a time by the stages (P1, P2) through mechanical automation.
