PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recover even a fine printing material and to prevent the clogging of a filter. SOLUTION: A sheet cleaning device immersing a printed sheet 3 in washing liquid 1, then scraping the printing material 12 from the surface of the sheet 3 and cleaning the sheet 3 with the washing liquid 1 is provided with switching means 26a and 26b branching a flow path 23 receiving the material 12 scraped from the surface of the sheet 3 and the liquid 1 used in washing into two and switching the two paths 25a and 25b. The device is also provided with the filters 32a and 32b for scavenging the material 12 on the respective flow paths on a downstream side from the means 26a and 26b, and recovers the material 12 scavenged on one filter 32b while the filter 32a on the other flow path is used.
