PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight rotary solenoid at low cost which can be easily manufactured and miniaturized. SOLUTION: In this rotary solenoid, a shaft 4 on which a permanent magnet 7 is attached is rotated by passing a current to a coil. Fixed iron cores 1 are arranged on the shaft at specified intervals. A plurality of metal fixtures 5 for positioning are inserted in the fixed iron cores in the shaft direction, and a front housing 2 and a rear housing 3 are fixed by using the metal fixtures for positioning as guides. Screw holes 8 are formed in the metal fixtures for positioning, and a rear housing fixing hole 10 and a solenoid main body fixing hole 9 are commonly used. The front housing and the rear housing are made of resin, so that reduction in weight and in cost, and mass production are enabled.
