摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system for providing the signal transmission of satisfactory quality, while making the narrow band of FM signal compatible with the increase of frequency deviation quantity. SOLUTION: A multiple part 100 multiplexes the frequencies of plural signals, having the carrier waves of mutually different frequencies and outputs them. A frequency modulation part 101 uses this signal as a source signal and converts it to an FM signal. A frequency dividing part 408 divides the frequency of this FM signal into 2n [(n) is an integer >=1]. An optical modulating part 104 inputs non-modulated light outputted from a light source 103, it is biased to the minimum point (voltage) of output light power in relevant input voltage-to- output optical power characteristics and which this light as a center, the FM signal transmitted via a transmission part 102 is impressed, so that an optical signal suppressing that optical carrier component is generated. An optical reception part 106 performs the square-law detection of optical signal transmitted through an optical transmission part 105 and converts it into an FM signal again. An Fm demodulating part 107 demodulates this FM signal and reproduces the source frequency multiple signal.
