PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colored contact lens which provides a showy appearance to the iris of a user by distributing a pigment in a lens material driven by centrifugal force generated in the spinning of a plastic mold. SOLUTION: A plastic mold 1 is spun at a set rate to spread a lens material 3 on the concave surface of the plastic mold 1 and the surface of a desired radius is formed by centrifugal force generated in the spinning. When a pigment composition 2 comes in contact with the lens material 3, a part or all of the pigment composition 2 dissolves in the lens material 3. Particles of the pigment composition 2 are distributed in the lens in an unexpected form by the centrifugal force and the shearing stress of the lens material 3. Then, a UV lamp 4 above the plastic mold 1 is lighted to cure the lens material 3 and therefore, a pattern of the pigment composition 2. The assembly of the plastic mold 1 and the resultant lens is then annealed. After the trimming, hydration, and detachment of the lens are carried out, the lens is completed.
