REFLECTION LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND MOVABLE TYPE INFORMATION TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection liquid crystal display device which enables irradiation on the front surface of a liquid crystal panel with light at need and is good in operability by installing an illumination unit movably between an illumination position facing the display surface of the reflection type liquid crystal panel and a stowage position retreating from this illumination position. SOLUTION: A touch panel for screen direct input is laminated on the front surface plate of the liquid crystal panel 4 exposed as the screen enclosed by a picture frame 3A on the front surface of a display section 3. The illumination unit 6 is housed in the picture frame 3A in the upper part of this liquid crystal panel 4. The illumination unit 6 has arms 7 which are fixed at one end to turning pivotal supporting parts 9 mounted on the display section 3 side and support lamp fixtures 8 of a wire-shaped lamp constituting the illumination unit 6 with the other ends. The turning operation between the housing position and the illumination position is made possible by erasing tongue pieces 10 formed at these arms 7. Then, the illumination unit 6 is kept housed and the front surface of the liquid crystal panel is illuminated at need, by which visibility may be improved.
