PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply control circuit by which useless power consumption is reduced. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 22 turns on/off a switch SW12 based on a remote control signal from a remote control transmitter 26 when a solenoid switch SW11 is closed. In a standby state where the solenoid switch SW11 is closed and the switch SW12 is open, power is supplied only to the microcomputer 22 via a standby power supply circuit 16. When the state is in the standby state and no timer reservation such as by an on-timer is set, a timer 22a counts a time and when the timer 22a expires after, e.g. 12 hours, the microcomputer 22 supplies a current to the solenoid and the solenoid switch SW11 is open. That is, no commercial power supply is supplied to a television receiver 10.
