PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to recognize whether a disk being housed in a cartridge was taken out to the outside of the cartridge in the past or not, as to the cartridge capable of loading/unloading a recording medium. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge is furnished with a main body 1 of the cartridge housing the disk 2 and a holding part 16 turning around a hinge 17 so as to cover the opening part 13, and when a pawl part 14 is in existence, which is an instructing part to close the opening, the disk 2 is never been taken out from the opening part 13 since the holding part 16 is unable to turn, and inversely, when the pawl part 14 is removed, which is in the opening state of the instructing part, the holding part 16 is turnable, and the fact that the disk 2 is taken out, is recognized.
