PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to read out data at high speed in a magnetic disk device which performs a process of reading out the data from a signal read with a magnetic head by spuriously generating a detection signal of a synchrobyte recorded in the forward position of the data when thermal asperity is generated. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device 1 is constituted to be provided with a detecting means 13, which detects the generation of the thermal asperity by monitoring the level of the signal read with the magnetic head 11, a generating means 14, which takes a set value as an input, starts the clock counting from the point of time when the detecting means 13 detects the generation of the thermal asperity and generates the spurious detection signal of the synchrobyte when the counted value reaches the set value, and an extracting means 15, which extracts the data from the signal read with the magnetic head 11 by using the detection signal generated with the generating means 14.
