PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen input device which naturally confirms a pen input function so as to match human sensations. SOLUTION: Relating to this pen input device which inputs on a tablet arranged corresponding to a displaying part displaying various information and images on a screen, a pen 3 is provided with a red LED 4a, a green LED 4b and a blue LED 4c, a LED controlling part 5 which controls the light emission control of the LEDs, a detecting head 7, a detection signal processing part 6, etc. Because the color to be inputted can be confirmed not only on a display screen to be set but also by the pen, a person who performs pen inputting naturally confirms the color of the pen to be inputted without the sense of incongruity.
