PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from misunderstanding that trouble is caused because a photographing lens or a shutter acts suddenly after loading a battery by starting up a camera, restoring the photographing lens and the shutter to an initial state and then moving the photographing lens to a position where photographing can be executed. SOLUTION: When the battery B is loaded in a battery chamber, a DC/DC converter 2 is boosted. A high-speed clock is started to move in a CPU 1, and the CPU 1 is set to the low power consumption mode of a low-speed clock after waiting for the stabilization of the boosting of the converter 2. If the battery B bounds in the battery chamber when it is loaded in the battery chamber, its contact with a battery armature gets unstable. When a voltage detector 3 detects that voltage inputted in the CPU 1 is lower than actuation voltage, the battery B is reset and various sequences are repeated. Since the sequence progresses after the bound of the battery B is supressed, the succeeding movement of the photographing lens or the shutter to the initial state is surely performed.
