PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver tank which can avoid rising of pressure in a lower chamber and can be readily assembled and set. SOLUTION: A receiver tank for temporarily storing refrigerant R which has been condensed by a condenser, comprises a drying agent layer 5 for dehydrating the refrigerant, an upper chamber 6 and a lower chamber 7 which are established by the drying agent layer, and a suction pipe 4 which passes through the drying agent layer and sucks the refrigerant from the lower chamber. The drying agent layer comprises a pair of plates 52, 52 having a plurality of small holes therein, respectively, and a drying agent being clamped by the pair of plates. Further, a partitioning member 54 for partitioning the drying agent, is arranged between the pair of plates. Furthermore, there is provided a bypass hole B for communicating the upper chamber with the lower chamber.
