PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a plurality of index images on a small-sized display screen of the digital camera in a way that a sequence such as a recording sequence can easily be obtained. SOLUTION: In the digital camera, a scroll function 37 of a reproduction section 35 reads 9 thumbnails S(i) stored in a flash memory 21 with image data and writes the 9 thumbnail to a VRAM 30 as index pictures I(i). A display device 39 reproduces the index pictures written in the VRAM 30 on an LCD 8. When the LCD 8 is scrolled, the scroll function 37 displays three index pictures arranged at a tail end of the LCD 8 onto a top of the LCD 8 side by side with respect to a scroll direction. A plurality of index pictures can be displayed on the small-sized display screen in a way that a sequence such as a recording sequence can easily be obtained under the control as above.
