EXTERNAL ELECTRODE DISCHARGE LAMP AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external electrode discharge lamp that allows a power feeding terminal to be correctly connected to an electrode in a short time and is thereby manufactured easily and provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This external electrode discharge lamp is composed of a lamp body wherein an electrode extending in the tube axial direction is installed on the outside surface of a glass tube, and a power feeding terminal that is connected to an end of the electrode of the lamp body and is formed of a metal plate. The power feeding terminal comprises a connection plate part and a joining plate part, and the joining plate part has a lead wire connected part and a tongue piece capable of being bent and raised. The manufacturing method of the external electrode discharge lamp has a process to abut the connection plate part of the power feeding terminal held at a holding part that holds the lamp body and is formed by bending and raising the tongue piece on the end part of the electrode of the lamp body.
