PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light projecting and receiving device for an optical touch switch device capable of reducing the frequency of using a light emitting means and widening the degree of freedom in the layout of components. SOLUTION: This light projecting and receiving device for an optical touch switch device is equipped with at least one light emitting element 3 and a plurality of light receiving elements 5 and photo-guide elements 21. The photo-guide elements 21 are made of a certain photo-transmissive material and each is equipped with a light incident part 21b to receive the light emitted by the light emitting element 3 and a plurality of light emission parts 21a installed in the parts confronting the light receiving elements 5 and projecting the light incident from the part 21b and transmitted through the inside toward the corresponding light receiving element 5 as a beam 9, and the external surfaces other than the light incident parts 21b and light emission parts 21a are covered with a covering material having photo-shutting property which hinders the light from being released.
