PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a recording medium from being inserted into a hold member when the hold member exists on a drive position and to prevent damage, etc., of a switch and other mechanisms placed in the hold member. SOLUTION: A control projection 15a is projected/formed on a tip of a drive chassis 15. When a holder 13 descends to arrive at the drive position, the control projection 15a is placed between a port P1 and the receiving hole 13a of the holder 13. Then, when a MiniDisk(MD) pack 1 is made to be inserted into the empty holder 13 in the state that the holder 13 is moved to the drive position as it is empty, the MD pack 1 is abutted on the control projection 15a. Thus, the further penetration of the MD pack 1 is prevented, and the damage of a pressing switch 19 on the drive chassis 15 is prevented.
