PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the contact between a positive electrode, an electrolyte and a negative electrode when charging and discharging are repeated and thereby provide a sufficient cycle characteristic in relation to a thin battery wherein at least the positive electrode, the negative electrode and the electrolyte are received between two external bodies, and an area between peripheral parts where the two external bodies face to each other are sealed. SOLUTION: In a thin battery wherein at least a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 4 and an electrolyte 5 are received between two external bodies 1, 2, and an area between peripheral parts where two external bodies face to each other are sealed by a sealing material 6, recessed parts 7, 7a, 7b recessed toward the inside of the battery are formed at the middle part(s) of one or both of the external bodies. The positive electrode, the negative electrode and the electrolyte between the two external bodies are pressed against one another by the recessed parts formed on the external bodies like this, so that the contact between the positive electrode, the electrolyte and the negative electrode is secured even if charging and discharging are repeated in the thin battery and its cycle characteristic is thereby improved as compared with a conventional thin battery.
