PRACTICAL AIR BOMB

The bomb is designed for training of the flying personnel. It can have multiple use due to the lack of a fuse and explosive, and its penetration into the ground is less than one length, without being destroyed. The modular design is simplified, safe in bombing from small heights and is easily detectable as the place of its landing can be recorded accurately. The bomb consists of a hollow cylindrical housing (9) to which an alignment ring (7) is undismantably fitted to which a stabilizer (14) is dismantably fitted in the form of a cone (6) with fins (2) and a ring (1). Cone (6) in its lower part is dismantably connected to the alignment ring (7), and in its upper end it is dismantably connected to the power tube (8) which is connected by threading to a central hole in front (11) by a connection endpiece (10). A visualization device (5) is fitted in the rear end of tube (8). Fins (2) are fixed to cone (6) of stabilizer (14) to the upper end of which ring (1) is undismantably fixed. A bracket (13) for fitting to the lock of the bombholder (the flying machine) is mounted to housing (9) of the bomb. In order to ensure the required accuracy of landing and small depths of soil penetration the mass of the bomb M, the coefficient of its front resistance Cx and the diameter of the front D are found in an accurately determined correspondence in the following ranges: M - 14.8-17.35 kg; Cx - 0.67-0.73 and D - from 185 to 205 mm. 2 claims, 1 figure
