PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily operate focus lock or correction of backlight or the like by selecting an object of the operations. SOLUTION: A light emitting device 14 emits a range finding light to an object. A CCD 38 receives reflected lights from a plurality of objects. Each photoelectric conversion element of the CCD 38 integrates signal charges to detect three-dimensional information that indicates a distance from each point on a front side of a plurality of the objects from a camera. A histogram of every distance is obtained and an object to be photographed among a plurality of the objects is selected based on a peak value of the histogram.
