PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head device capable of surely preventing the deterioration of electromagnetic characteristics of a thin film magnetic head element due to the ESD(electrostatic discharge). SOLUTION: This magnetic head device is provided with a magnetic head slider 10 having at least one thin film magnetic head element, a supporting mechanism for supporting the magnetic head slider at the tip part, a driving circuit 19 for the thin film magnetic head elements, and diode elements 20a-20d, at least two of which are connected in parallel for one direction between terminals connected to at least one thin film magnetic head element, while respectively having a conducting operation voltage larger than the maximum output voltage of at least one thin film magnetic head element.
