PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a cumulative wavelength diffusion by wavelengths. SOLUTION: Optical transmission equipment 10 sends out signals S1-S8 to an optical fiber transmission line 14 with wavelength λ1-λ8. λ1-λ4 are shorter than a zero dispersion wavelength λ0 of the optical fiber transmission line 14, and λ5-λ8 are longer than λ0. λ1-λ8 becomes longer in this order. A wavelength-converting device 20 on the optical fiber transmission line 14 converts the wavelengths λ1-λ8 of signals S1-S8 into λ8-λ1. The wavelength- converting device 20 converts the wavelengths of inputted signals S1-S8 into wavelengths in which the wavelength dispersion value on the optical transmission line 14 can become opposite in polarity and its absolute value is practically equal. The signals S1-S8 transmission on the optical fiber transmission line 14 are inputted to a light receiving equipment 12. |
