PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation device capable of obtaining wider information, and appropriately guiding a travel. SOLUTION: In this car navigation system, a data processing part 3 for reading map data from a map data storing part 2 based on coordinate data obtained by a position measuring part 1 and outputting display data reads map data in a wider range than a part necessary for display, and extracts the information of a building or the like being a landmark included in a map outside a display area, and a display part 4 displays the information. Thus, the map data in a wider range than a part necessary for display and the information of a building or the like being the landmark included in a map outside a display area can be obtained, and accurate traveling guidance can be attained. |
