PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which has high reliability and high reflectivity and may be produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: The DRAW type optical recording medium 100 has the structure obtained by successively laminating a recording layer 2 containing organic dyestuffs, a metallic layer 3, a reflection layer 4 and a protective layer 5 on a transparent substrate 1. The reflection layer 4 is composed of inexpensive aluminum or aluminum alloy. The metallic layer 3 is formed by using gold, gold alloy, silver or silver alloy at a film thickness of 5 to 40 nm. As a result, the amount of the gold or silver per sheet of the media may be reduced and, therefore, the inexpensive optical recording medium may be obtained. In addition, the metallic layer 3 described above is interposed between the recording layer 2 and the reflection layer 4, by which the high reflectivity is obtained and the corrosion of the aluminum constituting the reflection layer 4 may be prevented. |
