PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image synthesizing system capable of plotting three- dimensional volume data on a display at high speed and which is constituted by a small amount of hardware resources. SOLUTION: The image synthesizing system is provided with a volume memory 12 in which the entire volume data is stored by dividing the data into plural pieces of the volume data, an image processor 14 consisting of a memory control part 20, an inclination calculating part 22, a luminance calculating part 24, a synthetic calculating part 26, a base plane memory 27 and of a coordinate transforming part 28, a memory bus 30, a screen display memory 16, and with a display 18, pertinent volume data is read from the volume memory 12 by the memory control part 20, inclination is calculated in the inclination calculating part 22, luminance is calculated in a luminance calculating part 24, synthetic calculation is successively performed by defining the divided volume data as a unit along voxcel through which virtual eyes to be optionally set for the entire volume data pass in a synthetic calculating part 26, a synthetic calculation result is stored and accumulated in the base plane memory 27. |
