PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably activate a disk by positioning the disk inside a cartridge so that force caused by the difference of air pressure thin a cartridge which generates when the disk is rotated is generated in the direction equal to that of force for clamping the disk. SOLUTION: The height (a) from a reference surface A to the center of a hinge shaft 22 is heightened byΔa, the distance between the upper surface of the inner part of a cartridge 10 and a Y plane of the disk 12 is reduced byΔa, and a placing surface for a turntable 16b is heightened. Thus, the difference (d)-(c) between the height (d) from the reference surface A to the upper surface of the inner side of the cartridge 10 in a load finishing state and the height (c) from the reference surface A to the Y plane of the disk 12 is reduced. When the cartridge 10 is loaded on a disk driving device, sine the Y plane being the central surface of the disk is positioned higher than the X plane corresponding to a half height of the cartridge, rocking when the disk is rotated is reduced.
