PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately adjust flange back by correcting an error at an intermediate position remaining when a designed zoom tracking curve is displaced in parallel based on an adjusted value in a zooming direction and an adjusted value in a focusing direction. SOLUTION: A focusing position, that is, a focus measuring position (fw) at a designed wide end is measured from the level of an output signal from a detection circuit 32, and then a focus measuring position (ft) at a designed telephoto end is measured therefrom. Then, (ft-fw)-(Ft-Fw)} is calculated. Ft and Fw are fixed values previously obtained from the designed zoom tracking curve Ca. By using (ft-fw)-(Ft-Fw)}, the adjusted valueΔZ in the zooming direction and the adjusted valueΔF in the focusing direction are obtained. Since the adjusting error is caused at the intermediate position at the time of elongating and contracting the zoom tracking curve, processing to make the adjusting error small is performed to the vicinity of an almost center between the wide end and the telephoto end when the adjusted value or the value of (ft-fw)-(Ft-Fw)} becomes within a specified value.
