PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an axial central directional size of a whole rotary machine, to thin the whole rotary machine while lengthening as much as possible an axial central directional length of an oil retaining bearing and realizing required rotary precision and life and to prevent scattering of lubricant. SOLUTION: A part except the upper part of the oil retaining bearing 14 is inserted/fixed to a bearing support cylindrical part 10a. An upward opening circular liquid collection groove part 16 is formed among the tapered outside diameter part 14a of the oil retaining bearing 14 and the tapered inside diameter part 10a1 and the large inside diameter part 10a2 of the bearing support cylindrical part 10a. The small outside diameter 14b of the oil retaining bearing 14 is projected upward from the bearing support cylindrical part 10a. A circular liquid capture part 36 is provided on the outside in the radial direction of the upper part of the oil retaining bearing 14 where the bearing support cylindrical part 10a isn't interposed by the oil retaining bearing 14. The upper part of the circular liquid capture part 36 is a groove-shaped 36a whose diameter reduced gradually from an upper end part of a maximum inner diameter downward, and the lower part is a fixed inner diameter part 36b, the bottom of which is positioned in the circular liquid collection groove part 16.
