PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely vary printing data without reducing the work efficiency of a user by extracting contour information of graphic data based on a printing attribute added to stored graphic data and executing the variable processing of a graphic based on extracted contour information. SOLUTION: The space data of an objective graphic is temporarily stored in reading/writing storage device (RAM) 32 or an outer storage device 33. Different processings are executed on the type of the graphic, a segment and a circle in accordance with a multiline, an ellipse and a free curve. An offset graphic generated by the processing is stored in the RAM 32 and the outer storage device 33. The offset graphic is that considering the offset direction and the line width of a printing attribute. Thus, the maximum and minimum graphics which are geometrically stored are simply calculated without considering the offset direction and the line width of the printing attribute. Thus, contour information of the graphic is finally extracted by considering the printing attribute of the terminal form of the graphic.
