PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent heat efficiency from deteriorating at the time of filling hot water even if the hot water supply temperature is low in winter season, for example, by decreasing the hot water supply capacity of a hot water supply heat exchanger continuously from maximum capacity to a specified capacity. SOLUTION: Hot water supply capacity is set at maximum level, i.e., #24, when the hot water supply temperature is lower than 5 deg.C. Hot water supply increases along a curve C for maximum hot water supply capacity of #24 such that hot water is supplied at set temperature (e.g. 42 deg.C) up to the hot water supply temperature of 5 deg.C. When hot water supply of 16 1/min is reached at the hot water supply temperature of 5 deg.C for maximum hot water supply capacity of #24, hot water supply is not increased over 16 l/min even if the hot water supply temperature is increased and hot water supply capacity is decreased continuously. When the hot water supply temperature is raised to about 18 deg.C and the hot water supply capacity drops down to #14, the hot water supply capacity is not decreased furthermore but it is increased along a curve Cx as the hot water supply temperature increases such that a set temperature (42 deg.C) can be attained while fixing the hot water supply capacity at #14.
