PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a stable airflow in a wind box by making the wind box of a burner hollow, providing an air register at the central portion of the lower surface of the box, and arranging a fuel nozzle having a baffle board at the tip thereof at the center of the air register. SOLUTION: A duct 2 is radially connected to the peripheral wall of a wind box 1 which consists of a substantially cylindrical hollow body. A blower 3 is connected to the upper surface of the duct 2, while the lower surface of an exit duct 4 of the blower 3 and the upper surface of the duct 2 are communicated with each other through an opening 5. An air suction port is provided at the opposite side of a motor 6 of the blower 3. Further, a flow straightening plate 8 is arranged at the end of the downstream side of a side wall 7 which faces an airflow, among the side walls of the duct 2. The flow straightening plate 8 permits the airflow to swirl to a given direction. Furthermore, an air register 11 is located at the central portion of the lower surface of the wind box 1, and a fuel nozzle 13 having a baffle board 12 at the tip thereof, is arranged at the center of the air register 11.
