PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten luminance and attain light emission of long wavelength by comprising a heterocyclic organic compound or its metallic complex. SOLUTION: A light emitting element comprises a compound expressed by a formula I or its metallic complex. In the formula I, R1-R6 can be the same or different and represent hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, and the like, and at least one of R1-R6 is a group expressed by a formula II. In the formula II, at least one of R7-R9 is a heterocyclic group, and the rest is hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, and the like, R7-R9 can be the same or different. As metal in a metallic complex of this compound, there are included Na, Li, B, Be, Mg, Al, Ga, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, In, Tl, Pt. It is preferable that the peak of emission wavelength when the light emitting element is formed of this compound is wavelength longer than 580 nm.
