PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To register an extension without the need for turning the power on and off and for system reset or the like. SOLUTION: When a PHS terminal 17 is registered as an extension, a master set 15 dials a subscriber telephone number of the PHS terminal 17 and transmits an extension registration request to a network relay station 10. The network relay station 10 inquires of a PHS service control selection 12 about a PS-ID and position information of the PHS terminal 17, acquires the result of retrieval and transfers the result to the master set 15. The master set 15 sores the retrieved result and makes a call to the PHS terminal 17 to informs the PHS terminal 17 of extension terminal function information generated from the retrieved result and its own CS-ID. The PHS terminal 17 that is a called party acquires the CS-ID and the extension terminal function information from the master set 15 and delivers selection of permission or reject of the registration to the user. The user recognizes a notice of the extension registration request and makes operation of registration permission or reject and the extension is registered between the master set 15 and the PHS terminal 17, when the registration is not rejected. When a PHS terminal 18 in excess of a public base station area is registered, the request passes through a network relay section 11 furthermore.
