A cooking aid having the shape of a lump, i.e. having a square cross-section and a length of a few centimetres, is claimed. The cooking aid has a granular surface and comprises a flavouring core and a coating comprising a binding base and visual components, e.g. dehydrated pieces of a food product. The flavouring core may comprise salt, glutamate, fat and flavouring substances. The binding base may consist of a mixture of various fats combined with components such as starches, maltodextrins, gums or alginates. |
