The exercise bike comprises a pedal gear (2) driving a flywheel (3). The flywheel comprises an annular rim (6) engaging an adjustable braking device (8 to 13) which operates on the principle of the generation of Foucault currents in a peripheral tire (7) on the rim. The flywheel has fins (14) which generate a current of air sweeping across the rim and its tire.
