PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar array antenna capable of securing an ideal array interval, obtaining the maximum gain and drastically reducing cost even in the case of serially feeding power to arrayed patch antenna elements. SOLUTION: In this planar array antenna, the plural patch antenna elements 11 and 12 are arranged at a prescribed pitchλrespectively through insulation spacers 13 and 14 on a ground plate 10 composed of a metallic plate and the respective patch antenna elements are connected mutually with a power feeding line 17. In the patch antenna element, where the wavelength of transmission and reception is defined asλ, an element length is set toλ/2.
